Walgreens is a trickier store to shop then some of the other stores. They have a very strict coupon policy - that you should PRINT and always take with you. They have some 'rules' that you have to follow, and it can take some getting use to, and possibly some practice.
My advice is to start with only a couple of items to purchase when you are first start couponing at Walgreens. I also do not recommend doing more than one or two transactions your first few times, again until you really feel comfortable with couponing at Walgreens.
You can read over their online Coupon Policy, and again you will want to have this on you when you shop. More often then not, the employees and managers are not aware of their own store's coupon policy. You might be surprised at how often this happens. But if you go in educated and informed, and with a wonderful (and very patient) attitude you will do just fine, and get some REALLY amazing savings at Walgreens. .
Walgreens offers out Register Rewards (RR) with a lot of their sale items. These are actually MFQs that you can use on your next shopping trip to Walgreens. RR tend to have a rather short life, meaning they expire rather quickly. So, if you plan to use them, you will want to use them within a week or so, but you can't wait much longer or they expire.
Important things to understand when shopping Walgreens.
1. They will not accept more coupons then there are items. The register will beep, in order to prevent this it is a good idea to throw in a small filler item (such as candy or something under a $1.00).
2. There is an order to handing the cashier your coupons: First the MFQ - then the SQ(s). Otherwise the register will reject the MFQ
3. You can not use the same RR reward for the same item. If you do you will not receive another RR for that item. You can, however, us unlike item RR on one another.
I highly recommend following Wild For Wags - as Christie is amazing with Walgreens, and always has some great ideas on how to get the best deals with the least amount out of pocket (oop).Example: Body Wash is on sale for $3.99, and you will receive a RR for $3.00. You can not turn around and use this $3.00 RR on the same Body Wash, as it will not print another $3.00 RR. You can however use the Body Wash $3.00 RR on some Makeup that is priced at $5.99, and you will receive a RR for $2.00.
