Publix Shopping Trip 10/22/10

Spent $39.35
This was an odd week for me shopping at Publix. There really wasn’t anything exciting, for me, in this week’s ad.  My savings this week were ok (for me).  But I did get some items we needed, I still spent less then I saved, and I’m still way under budget.  Plus I didn’t have coupons for everything I bought, nor did I have any $/$$ coupons, or any overages this week.

But I also think it’s good to show that even though I use coupons and I am still saving, that there are just weeks where the savings just aren’t as great. It’s funny, prior to couponing I would have been so thrilled with what I saved, and now, I’m ok with it. I did end up getting a couple extra items that weren’t on my list, so considering I strayed and did some very minor splurge shopping, I did good.

Here’s The Rundow of What I Bought & How:

Publix Shopping Trip 10/16/10

I have to admit that when I saw the Publix Ad Preview on I Heart Publix last Monday, I was thinking this was going to be a "no-go" kind of week for me. I started compiling my list. I usually start on Monday's right after I see the preview ad, and when new coupons come out or unadvertised sales are being mentioned I add to my list. I also of course ad Need items to my list during the week (which is usually pretty minimal now-a-days).

Before I knew it I had a rather LARGE list of GREAT sale items with GREAT coupons. One of my largest lists I have had in a long time. I worked on the list late last night; clipping and compiling all of my coupons, checking to make sure I hadn't missed any. It took me a bit longer than I normally spend on my lists and coupons, BUT in the end it was completely worth it (it always is ;).

So I have good news and some bad news. I did get pics of my shopping trip, including the receipt. However, the bad news is that is not a very good pic. I was taking a couple pics of the trunk of my car where I had all the groceries to send to my sister. Well, my fabulous husband and children were EXTREMELY efficient this morning. They helped me get the groceries in and the next thing I knew everything was put away and I didn't get a good pic. So, I am posting what I have, I wish it were more, but at least it will give you an idea of what I purchased today.

I have to also admit that I didn't save as much, percentage wise, as I did last week. I believed I saved around 88% last week. But I still did very well, and stocked up on quite a bit.

Here are the Groceries in my trunk of the car
